Who operates A Personal Moment Of Care?

A Personal Moment Of Care is a human services program of Spiritual Care Everywhere, operated by a nonprofit public charity (IRS 501(c)(3)) called Collaborative For Universal Health.

Advancing human well-being

As part of this nonprofit, A Personal Moment Of Care follows the same basic standards used across modern health and human services programs. This includes respect for privacy, informed consent, and personal choice.

No personal information is shared without clear permission. If research or learning opportunities are ever offered, participation is always optional and requires explicit consent.

This structure also allows qualified health and social service researchers to collaborate responsibly—using their own compliant systems—to better understand when spiritual care choices may support well-being, treatment, or recovery.

Why this service exists

Many health systems, schools, employers, and community programs face overwhelming demand for emotional and spiritual support. Chaplains, counselors, and support staff are often stretched thin.

A Personal Moment Of Care was created to provide immediate, compassionate frontline care, available anytime, while always respecting personal choice.

Because the service is highly efficient, each dollar of grant, donation, or subscription support can help serve many people, making broad access possible.

Interfaith and inclusive

A Personal Moment Of Care is interfaith and non-exclusive. It is designed to serve people of all faiths—or no faith at all.

To support collaboration with faith communities while remaining inclusive, A Personal Moment Of Care operates as an affiliated focus ministry of Centers for Spiritual Living (CSL). This affiliation helps ensure there is no agenda of bias or evangelism.

Care is always guided by the individual’s preferences. The focus is on encouragement, dignity, and respect—not belief or conversion.

Why affiliate at all?

Our founder was influenced by the work and teachings of Dr. Peggy Bassett, who spoke about helping people engage fully in their lives—family, work, community—stronger and whole.

Through this influence, our Care Director, John Odden, trained in modern spiritual care practices and spent decades serving individuals in hospitals, workplaces, and communities.

This background shaped a simple conviction:
spiritual care should support people where they already live, work, learn, and belong.

Our intention

A Personal Moment Of Care exists for one reason: to support individuals.

We aim to help people reconnect with their inner strength, insight, and motivation—especially during moments of stress, illness, or uncertainty. Any deeper engagement with faith, community, or learning is always a personal choice.

We collaborate with those who share a vision of compassion, inclusion, and human dignity—and we welcome dialogue with many traditions, services, and communities who believe that building tomorrow better is something we can accelerate together.
